JACKSONVILLE – The results were good, and so was the process.

Coming off the first loss of the 2026 regular season, Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen stressed the importance of work in the building and on the practice field leading to Sunday. That emphasis paid off in a big way.

Now, it is about leaning on that process moving forward.

"That is the challenge in the National Football League that exists," Coen said.

Coen spoke to the media Monday, a day after 35-6 victory over the 1-2 New England Patriots at EverBank Stadium improved the AFC South-leading Jaguars to 2-1 – a victory that Coen said should make it evident how the Jaguars can and must prepare.

"Pretty clear message in terms of, 'All right, guys, how we practiced going into Denver and how we played versus how we practiced going into Cleveland [in Week 1] and how we played,' " Coen said. "Like it's right there. It's so clear and obvious."

Jaguars cornerback Jourdan Lewis spoke shortly after Coen, noting the importance of the Jaguars' practice week last week following a road loss to the Denver Broncos – a game in which the Jaguars led by 10 points early in third quarter.

"Like we've talked about before, it is about the process," Lewis said. "Every time we go out on the field, our process needs to be the same. It has to be relentless, it has to be intense, and it has to be game-like so the game is easy.

"Anytime that you have a loss like we did, you want to have a response and be mentally tough enough to go out there and handle business like we did."

As Coen noted, there are similarities from which to draw between the victory over the Patriots and the last time the Jaguars responded to a regular-season loss. The Jaguars in Week 10 of 2025 squandered a 19-point fourth-quarter lead in a 36-29 road loss to the Houston Texans.

The Jaguars beat the Los Angeles Chargers, 35-6, at EverBank Stadium the following week – the first of eight consecutive victories to end the '25 regular season.

"What we are trying to build is consistency," Coen said. "The only way to earn and get respect in this league is through that, is through consistency."

The Jaguars have won 15 of 20 regular-season games under Coen, a 15-5 record that is tied for fourth best in the NFL during that span. They have lost consecutive games just once during the stretch – losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in Week 6 of last season a week before losing to the Los Angeles Rams, who lost to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.

They have followed their other four regular-season losses under Coen with victories over the Houston Texans (Week 3, 2005, the Las Vegas Raiders (Week 9, 2025), the Chargers (Week 11, 2025) and the Patriots Sunday.

The focus now, Coen said, is taking the same approach they did last week each week.

"How do we simulate, replicate, but also elevate the standard so that we keep building week in and week out," Coen said. "That's where obviously leadership, players, we all have to be extremely accountable in understanding what it truly takes to go win games on Sundays."

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdowns with one interception Sunday and has thrown seven touchdowns with two interceptions in three games this season. Sunday marked his 13^th career game with three or more passing touchdowns, moving past Mark Brunell for the most such games in franchise history. Lawrence, who is now second on the franchise's all-time touchdown passes list with 104, has thrown 25 touchdown passes in his last 10 games. That's tied for the most by a Jaguars quarterback in a 10-game span. "Trevor played really well yesterday, to be honest," Coen said Monday. "I thought he did a nice job of taking the profits, being able to control it … I just thought he did a really nice job.  He had very good command of the system this week, and the preparation was there."

Coen on Monday said rookie defensive tackle Albert Regis likely will be available to play against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. Regis missed Sunday's victory over the Patriots with an elbow injury. "We'll have to look at what it looks like in practice this week," Coen said. "It wasn't something that should be out more than this past game. We were kind of being smart with him this week. He could have gone."
