In conjunction with this year's NFL draft, the eighth annual Budweiser Draft Day Fan Fest will be held from 12:00 noon - through the Jaguars' expected selection on the ninth pick of the first round (approximately 2:00 p.m) to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at ALLTEL Stadium. More than 10,000 people are expected for a day of fun and football. Admission and parking are free.
Jaguars fans will be able to watch ESPN's live draft coverage on the Jumbotron screens, in addition to participating in games and entertainment that will be available. WJXT Ch. 4 will broadcast live from 12:30 to 1:00, and four radio stations - WOKV, WAPE, Rock 105, and Cool FM - will also have live remotes from the Draft Day Fan Fest.
Fans will be able to meet Jaguars players and NFL Alumni and get autographs at four different areas. They will be introduced to the 2002 Roar cheerleaders and team mascot Jaxson de Ville. Q&A sessions have been scheduled with team owner Wayne Weaver, NFL supervisor of officials Neely Dunn, and Jaguars equipment manager Drew Hampton. A separate presentation will give an update on the proposed stadium renovations.
Fans will have an opportunity to win $25,000 with a 25-Yard Toss or $10,000 with a 40-Yard Field Goal Kick. Other games will be the NFL Experience, paintball, Road to the Super Bowl and the YMCA's rock climbing wall. The Gatorade Junior Training Camp will include two sessions of football instruction from Jaguars players. In the Cool Cats Corner for kids will be face painters, kids games and ice cream samples from Mayfield Dairy. Entertainment will be provided from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. by Big Al.
Fans can also participate in the second annual Draft Day Dash, a 5k race which will wind through downtown Jacksonville and end at the 50-yard line at ALLTEL Stadium. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each of 12 age groups. Runners will receive T-shirts and a team poster. Cameras will be posted at the 50-yard line to display runners on the Jumbotron as they cross the finish line.
In addition, the Jaguars' Select-A-Seat event will take place. Available seats will be marked for new season ticket holder purchases, including those in the Touchdown Club. Fans can walk around the stadium, check out the views and make their seat selections. Jaguars sales representatives will be available to assist ticket buyers.
Fans may enter the Pavilion area of ALLTEL Stadium at the South End Zone between Gates 1 and 4.
