Father and kids day

The Weaver Family Foundation and the Jacksonville Jaguars will host a free event focusing on football and fatherhood from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 4 on the east side of the practice fields at ALLTEL Stadium. The first 1,500 parents and children who register will receive goodie bags and be eligible for several prize giveaways.

The Jaguars' fifth Annual Father & Kids Day gives parents and their kids a chance to watch a Jaguars training camp practice and hear from team members about the importance of responsible fatherhood. Since 1999, the Jaguars have partnered with Family First, Tampa-based independent non-profit research and communications organization, to promote the importance of being a good dad and how fatherhood impacts the family and our communities.

Delores Barr Weaver, chair/CEO of the Jaguars Foundation, head coach Jack Del Rio, quarterback Mark Brunell and other players will share personal stories following the afternoon practice. Jaguars' play-by-play announcer Brian Sexton will again serve as host for the event.

Practice and registration begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by the program and prize giveaways. For more information, media can call the Jaguars Community Relations Department at (904) 633-6136.
