Favors re-signed

The Jaguars today placed third-year linebacker Tracy White and first-year defensive tackle Anthony Maddox on injured reserve with ankle injuries and re-signed linebacker Greg Favors and defensive tackle Martin Chase.

Maddox, 27, saw action in five games this season recording four tackles and one sack. The 6-1, 305-pounder was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the Jaguars in 2004 out of Delta State.

Favors, 31, played with the Jaguars in 2004 but was released on August 30 in the preseason. The 6-1, 244-pound linebacker played in 15 games last season and started 11 at defensive end. He recorded 39 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He has played for six NFL teams in his eight seasons and has started 56 of his 100 career games.

Chase, 31, originally signed with the Jaguars on March 4 as an unrestricted free agent from the New York Giants. He was released in the preseason and resigned on Sept. 21 and was inactive for two games while on the roster. The 6-2, 320-pound defensive tackle has played for five NFL teams in his eight seasons while playing in 54 career games.
