Garrard, Taylor Awarded NFL Weekly Honors

Jaguars quarterback David Garrard and running back Fred Taylor were selected as FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week for their performances in the Jaguars 29-22 win at Pittsburgh last Sunday. Fan voting took place at NFL.com this week. These two awards are the first FedEx Player of the Week honors for any Jaguars this season.

Taylor rushed for a season-high 147 yards on 25 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Taylor rushed for his fourth consecutive 100-yard game and rushed for the most yards ever at Heinz Field. The 10th-year veteran already holds the stadium record for the Steelers' previous home at Three Rivers Stadium with 234 yards set in 2000.

Garrard completed 17 of 33 passes for 197 yards and tied a career-high with three touchdowns despite playing in windy and snowy conditions in Pittsburgh. The sixth-year quarterback threw touchdown passes to Ernest Wilford, Reggie Williams and a 55-yarder to Dennis Northcutt, which was Garrard's second-longest career pass.

For each winner, FedEx awards a local children's hospital a check for $5,000. Garrard and Taylor have chosen Wolfson Children's Hospital to receive the $10,000 donation in Jacksonville.
