Jacksonville Jaguars, Second Harvest to thank Jags fans for helping feed hungry people through 'Clic

*WHAT:  *Jacksonville Jaguars fans responded in a big way this past season, putting their computer clicks to good use in an effort to help feed hungry people on the First Coast. Each week throughout the 2010 season, the Jaguars were matched up against another NFL team. Fans voted once each day to help their team win for that week. The top eight teams advanced to the "playoffs" following the regular season. Jacksonville – which was 17-0 during the regular season – advanced to the Super Bowl finals, where they lost to the eventual champion Green Bay Packers for the second straight year.

Ironically, two of the NFL's smaller markets faced off in the championship – outworking much larger markets such as New York, Chicago and Dallas.

Campbell&39;s® Chunky™ soup and the NFL donated 1,000 cans of soup to each of the 32 NFL teams and their local food banks. Jacksonville and Green Bay, the AFC and NFC champs respectively, each received an additional 12,000 cans apiece.

The 13,000 cans of Chunky Soup earmarked for Jacksonville have finally arrived! Jaguars mascot Jaxson De Ville and members of the Roar will help present the soup to Second Harvest North Florida at a presentation on Tuesday, June 14.

WHERE: Second Harvest North Florida, located at 1502 Jessie Street (off Haines Street Expressway)

WHEN: Tuesday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m.

WHO:   - Karen Rieley, executive director of Second Harvest North Florida

  • Jaxson De Ville, Jacksonville Jaguars Team Mascot
