Jags granted extension

The Jaguars this morning requested an extension of the blackout deadline for Sunday's game vs. the Houston Texans. The National Football League granted the team an extension until 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The normal blackout deadline is 72 hours before kickoff, which would be 1:00 today.

The team has approximately 580 tickets remaining to reach the blackout number as of 11:00 this morning, and is encouraging fans to take advantage of this opportunity to buy those tickets before Friday's deadline in order to avoid a blackout.

"We have asked the NFL for an extension to their blackout deadline because we feel that based on the current sales trends, our fans will purchase all of the non-club seat tickets prior to the 4:00 p.m. deadline on Friday," said Jaguars Executive Director of Ticket Sales and Marketing Scott Loft.

For fans wishing to see the game, tickets can be purchased online at jaguars.com, by calling (904) 633-2000 or at the Alltel Stadium Ticket Office. The Jaguars Ticket Office will be open until 5:00 p.m. today, 9:00 to 5:00 on Friday, and 9:00 to 3:00 on Saturday.

If the blackout is lifted the game will air live on WTEV-CBS 47 in the Jacksonville area. Fans will be able to listen to the game live on WOKV (690 AM) and WJGL (96.9 FM) radio.

On Sunday, the game-day ticket office (located between Gates 2 and 3) will open at 10:00 a.m., and to avoid potential long lines, fans are encouraged to arrive early to purchase or pick up tickets.
