JAGUARS BEGIN FIRST FULL WEEK OF TRAINING CAMP

The Jacksonville Jaguars began their first full week of training camp and went through their second day of two-a-day practices today on Ferrell Fields adjacent to ALLTEL Stadium.

"This is a very important week for us," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin. "The tempo was better and the contact was better. A lot of things will happen this week for our football team - we will work on goal-line and short-yardage offense, third down, red area and the four-minute and two-minute drills. We have a lot of things being introduced this week.

"The rookies will make mistakes, there's no question about that," Coughlin added. "But if they hang in there and keep their heads clear, they will learn every day and improve."

Second-year safety Mike Logan (knee tendonitis) was the only player to miss the two practices.

The team will practice at 8:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, and there will be only a morning practice on Wednesday. Training camp is open to the public for viewing practice sessions through August 17, which will be the final day of two-a-day practice sessions. There is no admission charge for training camp. Fans may call the Jaguars Fans Training Camp Hotline for a recorded daily message which gives the daily practice schedule. The phone number is (904) 633-6525.
