Jaguars Complete Final Night Practice

The Jacksonville Jaguars completed their final evening practice today at the practice fields at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium after the morning session was cancelled. The Jaguars will close training camp tomorrow following a 1:30 p.m. practice session in full pads.

Offensive lineman Stockar McDougle suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during the Monday night practice session. His is the only new injury since Saturday's preseason opener in Miami.

In place of the morning practice session today, head coach Jack Del Rio and his squad took a break to enjoy a movie inside the team meeting room.

"All of those guys enjoyed (the movie) because you are at the part of camp where your body begins to talk to you," said quarterback Byron Leftwich on the movie break. "You begin to be sore every morning when you wake up. You still have the team in there. Instead of going out and hitting each other we are sitting next to each other relaxing and watching a movie. It's just all part of bringing the team together."

Middle linebacker Mike Peterson, who returned to the starting lineup in last Saturday's game against Miami after missing 11 games in 2006, sees the benefit of the break Del Rio gave his team today.

"That is what they call a bone in this league when the head coach throws you a bone. That was pretty sweet. We enjoyed it," said Peterson. "I'm sure all around the league all head coaches are doing it in some kind of way. It's a way of taking care of the guys. We have been going at it since the beginning. It's good to have one practice off."

Following tomorrow's practice, the Jaguars will take the field on Thursday with a practice session at 1:30 p.m. in preparation for Saturday's preseason home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
