JAGUARS CONCLUDE JUNE PRE-CAMP

The Jacksonville Jaguars concluded their 1999 pre-camp today on

Ferrell Fields adjacent to ALLTEL Stadium, as head coach Tom

Coughlin cancelled the scheduled Friday practice and gave the team

the day off.

Although rookies will remain in Jacksonville for one more week, the

entire team will not come together again until all players report for

training camp on July 29. The first practice will be held on July 30.

"I complimented the entire team on their positive mental attitude

throughout the offseason," said Coughlin. "These guys are

outstanding. They did whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted.

They came on to the field with enthusiasm every day. They worked.

They gave us a real fine offseason in the strength program, and our

rehabs are on schedule.

"We introduced everything and touched on all the situational

offense, defense, and special teams," Coughlin continued. "I think

probably field-goal block is the only thing we didn't get a real solid

look at, and we'll do that in training camp. The veterans and the

new additions did an outstanding job. The players who have been

around here for four years know what is expected and what it takes

to win in this league. And they know what has to happen in the

offseason. They've all grown and developed. So it's been a positive

offseason."

All 82 players on the roster were in attendance on Thursday with

the exception of two players who were allocated to the NFL Europe

League - TE Cam Quayle and LB Reggie Lowe.
