Jaguars cut 10

The Jaguars today waived nine players and released one and now have 73 players on their roster. The team must reduce the roster by two more players before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Waived were: DT Clenton Ballard, PK Danny Boyd, LB Bobby Brooks, CB Chris L. Brown, OT Barry Hall, WR Kerry Hood, OT Jay Humphrey, OT Dave Kadela and PK James Tuthill. DT Reggie McGrew was released.

Ballard, Boyd and Brooks were with the Jaguars last season, with Ballard being a 2002 sixth-round draft choice. Hall, Humphrey, Kadela, McGrew and Tuthill were veterans who had played for other teams, with McGrew being a former No. 1 draft choice of the San Francisco 49ers out of the University of Florida. Brown was an undrafted rookie this year, and Hood was a first-year free agent.

NFL teams have until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday for the mandatory cutdown to 65 players. The Jaguars have six exemptions from the NFL Europe League and can have as many as 71 players after Tuesday's deadline. Final cuts to 53 players take place on Sunday.
