Jaguars Go Through Another Two-A-Day

The Jacksonville Jaguars went through two practices today, their ninth of 11 scheduled two-a-days.

Center Kevin Long suffered a knee injury in the morning session and had an MRI this afternoon. Head coach Tom Coughlin said that the MRI confirmed a tear of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) and that Long will be out indefinitely.

Safety Donovin Darius and linebacker T.J. Slaughter have been limited in training camp while rehabbing offseason shoulder surgeries, and Coughlin said they likely will not play in Friday night’s preseason opener against Tampa Bay. “I haven’t heard an absolute, but I would doubt they would,” he said. “They still don’t have the full green light to practice.” Darius and Slaughter usually practice once a day. Defensive end Tony Brackens has not practiced since doing so the first day of camp on July 26. He is supposed to start running later this week.

On Tuesday, the Jaguars will practice only once, at 3:20 p.m. at their practice fields adjacent to ALLTEL Stadium. Practice will be on Field 1, closest to the viewing stands on the east side of the fields. Players are available from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Radisson, and Tom Coughlin will hold his news conference following the practice.
