Jaguars Hold One Practice, Giants Game to be Televised

The Jacksonville Jaguars went through a morning practice today and took the afternoon off before players returned for meetings in the evening.

While some practices have been shorter than in past years, Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin said, "We are running the same number of plays, but with greater intensity and greater mental involvement from beginning to the end. Whether we are in pads or in shells, we are trying to keep the tempo up, the intensity high and make the players compete all the time. We change the drills to get some spontaneity and make people perform at the highest levels so we can get used to those kind of conditions."

The Jaguars will continue two-a-days on Wednesday, with practices at 8:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. at Ferrell Fields.

Friday night's preseason home opener game between the Jaguars and New York Giants at ALLTEL Stadium will be televised in the Jacksonville area after a sufficient number of tickets were sold today to lift the blackout. The game had to be sold out by 8:00 p.m. today to avoid being blacked out according to NFL guidelines. It will be televised on WJXT Channel 4 and nationally on CBS.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting the Internet at www.jaguars.com or by calling 1-888-397-0100. Single-game ticket prices are $65 and $90 per ticket.
