Jaguars honored for effort

The Clara White Mission's delectable annual fundraiser, "Miracle On Ashley Street," is set to turn the tables on Jacksonville Jaguars players Scott Starks, Marcus Stroud and Maurice Williams on Friday, honoring them for their community service and making them the focus of attention during the 2006 fete.

"The Clara White Mission has experienced tremendous growth over the last eleven years," observed Ju'Coby Pittman, Mission CEO since 1993. "We've grown our staff, we've grown our facility and we've grown our ability to provide services. We're always quick to thank our funders and volunteers. We just want to be sure they know, and that the community knows, the important role they've played, and how much we appreciate their commitment and support of Clara White Mission."

Clara White's "Miracle On Ashley Street" brings together the homeless with Jacksonville's business and professional community for a gourmet lunch that features the specialties of popular area restaurants served up by local celebrities from politics, business and the media. This year's event is hosted by Deborah Gianoulis, sponsored by Citi Cards, Publix Super Market Charities and over 20 corporate sponsors and 140 confirmed servers, with 10 community restaurants participating. Come dine with us, on Friday, May 26, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Clara White Mission, 613 W. Ashley Street, downtown. Tickets are $25.00.
