Jaguars make roster moves

The Jacksonville Jaguars made several roster moves today, placing guard Chris Naeole on injured reserve and re-signing offensive lineman Tutan Reyes and linebackers Jorge Cordova and Roy Manning. Linebacker Justin Durant was placed on Reserve/Suspended, and defensive tackle Marcus Stroud was suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the NFL Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substances.

Naeole, 32, was placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn quadriceps tendon in Sunday's loss to New Orleans. The 11th year veteran had started all eight games this season at right guard and had started 87 games for the Jaguars since signing as an unrestricted free agent in 2002. Sunday's game had marked his 150th start in his 154-game career.

Reyes, 30, returns to the Jaguars after originally being signed on Aug. 20, 2007. The 6-3, 310-pounder started the first six games of the 2006 season for Buffalo after signing as an unrestricted free agent on April 27, 2006. He was originally drafted by New Orleans in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft out of Mississippi. He played in one game with the Saints in 2001 before being claimed off waivers by Carolina on Nov. 25, 2002. He played four seasons in Carolina and started 28 of his final 30 games in 2004 and 2005. The Queens, New York native has started 34 of his 37 career games. He will wear jersey No. 78.

Cordova, 26, was originally selected by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Nevada-Reno. The 6-1, 244-pound linebacker was waived on Aug. 27 after playing in 13 games in 2006. He recorded three solo tackles on defense and eight on special teams. The San Diego native spent his first two seasons on injured reserve. He will wear jersey No. 58.

Manning, 25, was waived by the Jaguars on Sept. 1 after being claimed off waivers from Buffalo. The 6-2, 245-pound linebacker was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by Green Bay on April 25, 2005 out of Michigan. He started two of 15 games with the Packers in 2005 and played in one game with Houston in 2006 before being released on Oct. 20, 2006. He will wear jersey No. 55.
