The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed safety Gerald Alexander and waived veteran tight end Ernest Wilford and fourth-year defensive back Michael Coe. Quarterback Brett Ratliff was waived from the practice squad.
Alexander, 6-2, 209, is in his second stint with the Jaguars after playing in 15 games with 10 starts for the club in 2009. He was acquired via trade from Detroit on June 29, 2009. The former Boise State standout spent the 2010 preseason with the Jaguars before he was waived on final cuts.
Alexander has played in 36 games, starting 27, and totaled 153 tackles, four interceptions, two sacks, five forced fumbles and 10 tackles for loss. Wilford and Coe played in the last two games for the Jaguars.
The Jaguars roster currently stands at 52 players.
