Jaguars Place Baniewicz on IR, Make Practice Squad Changes

The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed OT Mark Baniewicz on injured reserve and made two changes on their practice squad, releasing DE Michael Mason and signing OT Reggie Nelson.

Baniewicz, a rookie seventh-round draft pick out of Syracuse, had suffered a knee injury in practice. He did not appear in any games; he was inactive for seven games and dressed but did not play in three others.

Mason was originally signed to the Jaguars' practice squad on October 25 and then activated to the 53-man roster the day before the Dallas game (he was inactive for that game). He was waived on October 31 and then re-signed to the practice squad last Wednesday.

Nelson was originally signed to Jacksonville's practice squad on September 27 and activated to the 53-man roster on October 24 (he was inactive for the October 29 game at Dallas). He was waived last Saturday when Shad Criss was promoted to the 53-man roster because of Aaron Beasley's injury.
