The Jacksonville Jaguars today placed RB Stacey Mack on injured reserve and activated TE Ryan Neufeld from the practice squad.
Mack suffered a broken finger in practice yesterday and underwent surgery today. He is a two-year veteran who started two games earlier this season when Fred Taylor was injured. For the year, he rushed 54 times for 145 yards (2.7 average) and one touchdown and returned six kickoffs for 104 yards (17.3 average).
Neufeld was signed to the practice squad on September 12. He is a second-year player who spent six games on the 53-man roster of the Dallas Cowboys in 1999, making three tackles on special teams. A 6-4, 240-pounder from UCLA, Neufeld, 24, spent last spring in the NFL Europe League and the preseason with Dallas being before waived on August 27. He spent the first week of the season on the Miami Dolphins' practice squad before being released. He will wear jersey No. 83.
To fill Neufeld's spot on the practice squad, the Jaguars signed RB Morgan Kane, an undrafted rookie who spent the preseason with the Carolina Panthers. The 6-1, 220-pound Kane is the third-leading career rusher at Wake Forest with 2,550 yards in four seasons. He rushed for 1,161 yards as a senior in 1999. He is 24 and a native of Ottawa, Ontario.
