JAGUARS PLAYERS TO VISIT HOMELESS SHELTERS ON TUESDAY

Jaguars players and wives will be busy on Tuesday when they visit six local agencies and one school - winner of the Big Ben Essay Contest - to deliver more than 1,100 turkeys and clothing and to help serve meals to those less fortunate during this holiday period.

More than seven tons of turkeys - enough to feed approximately 9,600 people - will be delivered to the following locations:

11:00 - 11:30 AM: I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless
(611 E. Adams Street)

11:30 - 12:00 PM: YWCA-Davis Center
(325 E. Duval Street)

12:00 - 12:30 PM: City Rescue Mission
(234 W. State Street)

12:30 - 1:00 PM: Clara White Mission
(613 W. Ashley Street)

1:00 - 1:30 PM: Salvation Army-Towers Center
(900 W. Adams Street)

1:30 - 2:00 PM: C.H.A.N.C.E./Hollybrook Homes
(104 King Street)

3:00 - 5:00 PM: Parkwood Heights Elementary School
(1709 Lansdowne Drive)

In addition to the deliveries, Jaguars players will serve meals to the homeless at the Clara White Mission beginning around 11:30 a.m.

Some 550 turkeys will be distributed to parents and their children who attend Parkwood Heights Elementary School in Arlington beginning at 3:00 p.m. Jaguars guard Ben Coleman and his wife, Krista, sponsored a Thanksgiving essay contest among United Way full service schools in Jacksonville with Parkwood Heights having the highest level of participation.

The Jaguars 4th Annual Holiday Food Drive concluded last Sunday with 14,443 pounds of non-perishable food items and over $1,200 in cash donations collected at ALLTEL Stadium when the Jaguars hosted the Buccaneers. Donations received by all area Winn-Dixie food stores are still being counted.
