Jaguars Prepare for Scrimmage on Friday

The Jaguars completed their third consecutive day of practice in full pads today at the practice fields in preparation for the team's live scrimmage on Friday, August 1 inside Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The Jaguars will have two practice sessions on Thursday and one on Friday morning before the scrimmage at 7:30 p.m.

Following today's practice head coach Jack Del Rio reported wide receiver Reggie Williams would miss time after requiring surgery on his injured knee. Williams had begun training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform List.

"Reggie will require surgery for some cartilage. He'll need a little cleanout. He should return. Once I get a timeline, I'll let you know," said Del Rio as he addressed the media after practice.

The scrimmage will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and will be open to the public. There is no charge for admission or parking. Brian Sexton, Jeff Lageman and Cole Pepper will broadcast the scrimmage live on WOKV AM & FM (690, 106.5) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Free parking will be available in Lots M, N, J, C & D. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and fans must enter through Gates 1, 2 or 4.

The 2008 ROAR of the Jaguars will perform, as well as the D-Line. Special appearances will be made by Jaxson de Ville and the Jax Pack. A brief autograph session with the complete roster of players will immediately follow the scrimmage. Gatorade will be collecting donations for the "Beat the Heat" Safety Awareness Program benefiting Kendrick Fincher Foundation. Immediately following the scrimmage, there will be a performance by the Boogie Freaks in the South End Zone area of the stadium.

The new 2008 Jaguars merchandise will be available, as well as specially priced concessions, which include $2 draft beer, soft drinks and water. The Bud Zone and Sky Lounge will be open to the public. Fans wanting to upgrade to VIP seating in the MPS Group Terrace Suite can visit homefieldevents.com.

Camp will continue tomorrow morning with two practice sessions at 11:00 a.m. (special teams) and 7:00 p.m. (shells) on the practice fields at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
