The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed tight end Damon Jones to a new contract. Length and terms of the deal are not disclosed. Jones was one of four Jaguars restricted free agents, all four of whom have now re-signed with the team.
Jones enters his fourth year with the team after having been drafted in the fifth round of the 1997 draft. In three seasons, he has 10 touchdowns on 32 career receptions - scoring on 31.3 percent of his catches. In 1999, he started eight of 15 games played and caught a career-high 19 passes for 221 yards.
Heading into this weekend's draft, the Jaguars have 65 players under contract and retain the rights to defensive end Tony Brackens, who was designated as a franchise player.
