The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed unrestricted free agent linebacker Bryan Schwartz, a five-year veteran who holds the team record for career tackles with 481. Length and terms of his contract are undisclosed.
Schwartz, 27, has led the team in tackles two seasons (1995 and 1997) and was second in tackles in 1998. He has started 40 of his 47 career games played and in 1996 he missed the final twelve games of the season due to a knee injury. He was drafted in the second round of the 1995 draft and is one of 21 players who have been with the Jaguars all four seasons.
Schwartz is the fourth unrestricted free agent to re-sign with the Jaguars this year, joining linebackers Brant Boyer and Tom McManus and defensive end Eric Curry. The Jaguars now have 80 players under contract.
