The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed quarterback Jamie Martin and signed two other players to contracts. Length and terms of the deals are undisclosed. The team's roster now stands at 50 players.
Also re-signed was linebacker Edward Thomas, and defensive back Chandler Smith signed his first contract with the team.
Martin, 31, was the Jaguars' backup quarterback in both 1998 and 2000. In two seasons with Jacksonville, he has appeared in nine games, making one start. He has completed 49 of 78 passes (62.8
percent) for 662 yard, four touchdowns and one interception and a passer rating of 101.6. He has two of the six-longest TD passes in Jaguars history.
Thomas, 26, played in four games each with the 49ers and Jaguars last season, making five special teams tackles in his four games with Jacksonville. He spent the 1997 to '99 seasons with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL.
Smith, 25, last played for Southern Mississippi in 1998 and has never been in a pro training camp. He plays both cornerback and safety and is 6-2, 200 pounds.
