JAGUARS RE-SIGN SIX PLAYERS

The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed six players, one veteran and five who were members of the team's practice squad last season. Signed were: veteran S Rayna Stewart, and first-year players WR James Battle, RB Leroy Collins, C/G David Kempfert, S Kevin Peoples and DE Rahmaan Streater.

Stewart, 26, was an unrestricted free agent. He joined the Jaguars last September 20 after having played for Miami, Tennessee and Houston. A four-year veteran, he played in 14 games and finished second on the team with 20 tackles on special teams, as well as making eight tackles on defense.

The other five signees are all first-year players. Kempfert was on the Jaguars' practice squad the entire 1999 season, while the other four players joined the practice squad at various times during the season.
