JAGUARS RE-SIGN TYLSKI

The Jacksonville Jaguars today re-signed guard Rich Tylski, a

restricted free agent who has been with the Jaguars since their

inaugural season. Length and terms of the contract are not

disclosed.

Tylski, 28, has started 28 of 41 games played over the last three

seasons (25 at right guard and three at left guard). In 1998, he

started eight of 12 games played, missing four games with knee and

shoulder injuries. He started all 13 games in which he played in

  1. In 1996 he replaced an injured Brian DeMarco in November

and started the final seven games and all three postseason contests,

including the AFC Championship game.

Tylski joined the Jaguars several weeks into the 1995 training camp

after he was waived by the New England Patriots. He spent the

entire 1995 season on the Jaguars' practice squad. He was originally

signed by the Patriots as an undrafted rookie in 1994, and he spent

all of that season on New England's practice squad.

A native of San Diego, Tylski played collegiately at Utah State.
