The Jacksonville Jaguars went through one practice session today, one day before two scheduled practices against the New Orleans Saints.
Safety Craig Miller suffered an injury in the practice and was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Center. "Our concern, of course, is for Craig Miller," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin. "I don't have anything to report until I hear from them. I just pray that he is OK. Anytime you hurt your neck, there is concern."
Of the two practices with the Saints, Coughlin said, "We'll get to work out with other people and get to evaluate ourselves. With ones against ones and twos against twos, we'll really get to take a look at depth. New Orleans is a good football team, an aggressive football team, a playoff team from a year ago. Our players will get to pound on other guys. It's the fundamentals of evaluating other players in a competitive atmosphere. The motors will be running a little high, and the players look forward to playing against someone different. This will be good work for us."
The two practices will be at 8:30 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. Friday at Ferrell Fields. Both sessions are open to the public. Head coach Tom Coughlin will be available to the media on the field after the morning practice. Jaguars players will be available for interviews from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Radisson Riverwalk Hotel.
Saints head coach Jim Haslett will be available on the field following the morning practice, and Saints player interviews will take place in the West Touchdown Club lobby around the team's lunch.
