Jaguars Release Bryce Paup

The Jaguars today released linebacker Bryce Paup. Paup played for the Jaguars in 1998 and '99 after signing as an unrestricted free agent from the Buffalo Bills. In two seasons, he made 158 tackles and 7.5 sacks, starting 30 of 31 games played.

The 10-year veteran is now free to sign with another NFL team. He has played in four Pro Bowls and has 73 career sacks while starting games at four different positions. He originally was a sixth round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers in 1990 out of Northern Iowa. He played in Green Bay from 1990 to '94 and in Buffalo from 1995 to '97.
