The Jacksonville Jaguars today waived defensive end Brandon Green and released offensive tackle Sammy Williams.
Green, 24, played in three games for the Jaguars last season recording two tackles. The third-year defensive end was originally drafted by Jacksonville in the sixth-round of the 2003 NFL draft out of Rice. He missed his entire rookie season and the second half of the 2004 season on injured reserve.
Williams, 30, had been re-signed by the Jaguars on Jan. 25 after being waived in final cuts on Sept. 5, 2004. The seventh-year offensive tackle spent 15 weeks on the Jaguars roster in 2003 but did not see any action. He has played in 30 career games with 14 starts.
The Jaguars now have 86 players on the roster.
