Jaguars Return to Practice

The Jacksonville Jaguars returned to practice on Sunday, with several familiar faces back on the field, including OTs Tony Boselli and Zach Wiegert and DBs Carnell Lake and Fernando Bryant.

"Tony Boselli is going to take individual this week and we'll see where he's at. We'll bring him along slowly, and next week he'll do a little more, but just individual this week," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin. "We are going to up the number of snaps that Fernando Bryant has had. Fernando does feel a lot better. Carnell Lake will make a little more progress, but not a lot."

In the Jaguars' 34-14 win over the Carolina Panthers in last Friday's preseason opener, the team's inexperienced offensive line played well, according to Coughlin. "The first group played well together. They definitely needed it; we needed it. The challenge will be greater this week. The New York Giants have a good defensive team coming in this week. They have a heck of a defensive front, so it will be a challenge this week."

Coughlin also commented on fifth-round draft choice Kiwaukee Thomas, who started the game at cornerback and played the first three quarters. "He certainly has been an outstanding addition at this point in time," said Coughlin. "He's a young man with all kinds of energy and desire. He flies around. He's been a real pleasant addition. He's picked it all up - he does a good job in the classroom, he takes good notes, asks good questions. He comes out here and has some mental errors, but there are not a lot of them. He is a very aggressive player."

The Jaguars will continue two-a-days on Monday, with practices at 8:40 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. at Ferrell Fields. They will host the New York Giants at 8:00 p.m. Friday at ALLTEL Stadium for their preseason home opener. Tickets are still available for $40, $50, $65 and $90 per ticket.
