The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed guard Chris Naeole, an unrestricted free agent. Naeole, 27, was a first-round draft choice of the New Orleans Saints in 1997, the 10th overall selection. In the last four seasons, he has started 65 of 66 games (including playoffs), missing only one contest. At the University of Colorado, he was a first-team All-America in 1996 and a four-year letterman. The 6-3, 313-pound Naeole was also a high school All-America in Kaaava, Hawaii.
"Chris Naeole is a former first-round draft choice who is an outstanding offensive lineman with size and ability who will give us more veteran experience on the offensive line," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin.
The Jaguars also signed placekicker Jaret Holmes to a tender offer. He was with the team for the last four games in 2001. The Jaguars' roster now stands at 69 players.
