The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed linebacker Danny Clark to a contract. Clark was selected by the Jaguars in the seventh round of the April 15-16 draft and was the 245th pick overall. Length and terms of the contract are not disclosed.
Clark ranked sixth on Illinois' career list with 384 tackles, 10 more than Hall of Famer Dick Butkus. He was a three-time honorable mention All-Big Ten selection, starting 44 of 45 games played in four seasons. He will provide depth on the Jaguars' linebacking corps, as well as play on special teams.
With the signing of Clark, the Jaguars now have signed 10 of their 11 draft choices and have 79 players on the 81-man roster under contract. The only rookie still unsigned is No. 1 draft pick R. Jay Soward. Defensive end Tony Brackens, who was designated as a franchise player, is also unsigned.
