Jaguars Sign Donny Green

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed linebacker Donny Green off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad to their 53-man roster and signed cornerback Renard Cox to their practice squad.

The Jaguars' active roster now stands at 53 players, and the practice squad is at the limit of five players.

Green, 24, was originally signed as an undrafted rookie by the Buffalo Bills before being waived and claimed by the Washington Redskins, making their opening day roster and playing in the first game. He was waived by the Redskins on September 10 and signed to Dallas' practice squad on November 29. A native of Hampton, Va., he lettered three years at Virginia, ranking eighth in the ACC in tackles in 2000. Green will wear jersey No. 54.

Cox had been waived from the 53-man roster yesterday. He played in four of the last five games after being signed off the New Orleans Saints' practice squad on November 6. He played solely on special teams, making no tackles.
