JAGUARS SIGN FOUR PLAYERS TO PRACTICE SQUAD

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed four players to their practice squad. All four players spent the 1997 training camp with the team. Signed were: CB Curtis Anderson, WR Chad Askew, G/OT Todd Fordham and LB Al Wallace. The Jaguars can still sign one more player to their practice squad.

Askew and Wallace were waived in the Jaguars' cut to 60 players on August 19; Anderson was waived last Wednesday when QB Steve Matthews was claimed from Kansas City; and Fordham was waived yesterday in the final cuts.

All of the players but Askew were originally signed as undrafted rookies by the team on April 21, the day after the 1997 college draft. Askew was signed as a first-year free agent last February 12. All four players can practice

with the team but cannot suit up for games unless activated to the 53-man roster. They can also be claimed by any other NFL team as long as they are activated to that team's roster.
