JAGUARS SIGN FOUR PLAYERS TO PRACTICE SQUAD

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed four players to their practice squad. All four players spent the 1998 training camp with the team. Signed were: DT James Clyburn, WR Damon Dunn, G Mark Nori and DE Lamanzer Williams.

RB Pepe Pearson, who was waived by the San Francisco 49ers in the cut to 60 players on August 25, has agreed to a practice squad contract and will arrive and sign on Tuesday. Pearson rushed for 3,076 yards and scored 32 touchdowns at Ohio State. As a junior in 1996, he gained 1,484 yards to rank third in the Big Ten and 11th in the nation, Pearson, 23, was a "USA Today" All-America selection at Euclid (Ohio) High.

Clyburn and Dunn were waived in the Jaguars' cut to 60 players on August 25; Nori and Williams were waived yesterday in the final cuts.

Nori was signed to the Jaguars active roster on Dec. 9, 1997, but did not see action during the season. Williams was drafted in the sixth round of the 1998 draft, while Clyburn and Dunn signed as college free agents on April 23. Practice squad players can practice with the team but cannot suit up for games unless activated to the 53-man roster. They can also be claimed by any other NFL team as long as they are activated to that team's roster.
