The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed wide receiver Donald Hayes, who was released by the New England Patriots two weeks ago.
Hayes, 27, is a five-year veteran who has caught 144 passes for 1,988 yards (13.8 average) and nine touchdowns during his career (32 starts in 63 games). Last season he played for the New England Patriots, with 12 receptions for 133 yards and two TDs. He played for the Carolina Panthers from 1998 to 2001 and had his best season in 2000 when he caught 66 passes for 926 yards. Hayes was a fourth-round pick in the 1998 draft out of Wisconsin. He was cut by the Patriots on February 20.
In addition, the Jaguars signed G Drew Inzer, 23, an exclusive rights free agent, to a tender offer. Inzer spent the entire 2002 season on the Jaguars' 53-man roster. He was inactive for eight games and dressed but did not play in eight games.
The Jaguars' roster stands at 63 players.
