The Jacksonville Jaguars last night signed former Florida offensive tackle Mike Pearson, who was the team's second-round choice in this year's draft. In addition, the Jaguars waived offensive tackle Garrick Jones, an undrafted rookie who had been signed in April.
The signing of Pearson leaves No. 1 draft choice John Henderson as the Jaguars' only unsigned player, with training camp set to open on Thursday and practices beginning on Friday. The Jaguars' roster now stands at 90 players. They can bring 89 signed players to training camp.
"This will benefit Mike greatly, being in camp from the start," said Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin. "The spring practices were important, but the learning will accelerate and the pads go on now. I'm pleased that he's ready to go."
