JAGUARS SIGN NAKIA JENKINS

The Jaguars have signed WR Nakia Jenkins, a first-year player who

spent the 1998 training camp with the New York Jets after signing

as an undrafted rookie. Terms are not disclosed. In two years at

Utah State, Jenkins, 23, caught 155 passes for 2,483 yards and 14

touchdowns, with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. The 6-1,

210-pound Jenkins is a native of Belle Glade, Fla. Jenkins has some

ties to the Jaguars: his offensive coordinator at Utah State was new

Jaguars QB coach Bob Petrino, and he was a high school teammate

of Jaguars RB Fred Taylor at Central High in Belle Glade.
