JAGUARS SIGN PRICE, PARKER AND EX--PATRIOT O'NEILL

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed offensive tackle Marcus Price, running back Chris Parker and punter Pat O'Neill to contracts.

Price, 24, was waived in the final cuts last season on August 25. He was a sixth-round draft choice out of Louisiana State in the Jaguars' inaugural draft and spent all of the 1995 season on injured reserve with an ankle injury that he suffered in the second preseason game.

Parker, 24, spent most of the 1996 season on the Jaguars' practice squad. He was originally signed as a rookie free agent on April 25. He was waived on August 19 and signed to the practice squad on September 24. Parker holds every major rushing record at Marshall University and is the all-time rushing leading in the history of the Southern Conference.

O'Neill, 25, was out of the NFL in 1996 after being cut by the New York Jets on August 20. He punted for New England in 1994 and was with the Patriots, Bears and Jets in 1995. A fifth-round draft choice of the Patriots in 1994, he has a 41.9-yard gross average on 106 punts. He was an All-American at Syracuse, where he also handled placekicking.
