The Jaguars today signed veteran free agent offensive tackle Charles Spencer and placed offensive tackle Richard Collier on the reserve/non-football injury list.

Spencer, 26, was waived by the Houston Texans on July 22 after spending two seasons with the Texans. The 6-4, 337-pounder started the first two games of the 2006 season at left tackle before missing the remainder of the 2006 season with a broken leg. He missed the 2007 season while on the Physically Unable to Perform list. The Poughkeepsie, New York native was originally selected by the Texans in the third round of the 2006 NFL draft out of Pittsburgh. He will wear jersey No. 72.
