Jaguars Sign Thomas Williams to Contract

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed rookie linebacker Thomas Williams to a contract today. Williams was the 155th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and one of the Jaguars' two fifth-round selections. He joins former teammate and seventh-round pick Chauncey Washington as two of the five draft picks to sign contracts.

Williams, 23, played in 49 career games with 14 starts at linebacker at Southern California. The 6-1, 225-pound linebacker recorded 117 career tackles, three sacks and three interceptions and excelled on special teams. The Los Angeles native was named All-Pac-10 honorable mention and won the team's Most Inspirational Award and Co-Special Teams Player of the Year Award.

The Jaguars will report to Jacksonville Municipal Stadium for the start of training camp on Friday, July 25.
