Jaguars Sign Thorpe; Waive Richards

The Jaguars signed free agent wide receiver Craphonso Thorpe and waived wide receiver Derrek Richards, who was signed on May 16 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Utah.

Thorpe, 24, played in five games for the Indianapolis Colts last season and recorded 12 receptions for 70 yards with one touchdown. The 6-0, 187-pounder returned 15 kickoffs for 318 yards (21.2 avg.) and six punts for 31 yards (5.2 avg.). The Tallahassee native was originally drafted by Kansas City in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Florida State. He has spent time with Kansas City, Detroit and Indianapolis. The second-year veteran will wear jersey No. 13.
