Jaguars Sign Wade, Place Williams on Injured Reserv

The Jaguars today signed veteran offensive lineman Todd Wade and placed guard/offensive tackle Maurice Williams on injured reserve after Williams suffered a torn biceps in last Sunday's game at Tennessee. The team also signed cornerback Isaiah Gardner to the practice squad.

Williams, 29, started at right guard and played in the first series in the season opener at Tennessee but did not return after suffering the injury in pre-game warmups. The 6-5, 302-pounder had moved to guard last season after starting six seasons at right tackle. The eighth-year veteran has started 96 of his 101 career games with Jacksonville after being selected in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft.

Wade, 31, spent the past two seasons with the Washington Redskins before being released in final cuts on Aug. 30. The 6-8, 314-pound offensive lineman has started 96 of his 99 career games while with Miami (2000-03), Houston (2004-05) and Washington (2006-08). The ninth-year veteran was originally selected by Miami in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft out of Mississippi. He will wear jersey No. 70.
