Jaguars sign Williams

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed unrestricted veteran free agent defensive tackle Tony Williams to a contract today. The ninth-year veteran spent last season with Cincinnati.

Williams, 29, played six games last season with the Bengals. The 6-1, 292-pound defensive tackle recorded 17 tackles (8 solo). He signed with Cincinnati in 2001 after spending four seasons with Minnesota.

Originally a fifth-round selection by Minnesota out of Memphis in 1997, he has 101 starts with 175 tackles (120 solo), 22 sacks and 1 forced fumble.
