Jaguars sign Zelenka, Koch

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed tight end/long snapper Joe Zelenka and offensive lineman Aaron Koch to contracts.

Zelenka was one of the team's 13 unrestricted free agents. He played in all 32 games over the last two seasons as the team's snapper for placekicks and punts, while also seeing limited time at tight end. Zelenka is a fifth-year pro who played in 29 games for the Redskins and 49ers in 1999 and 2000 before joining the Jaguars.

Koch would have been a restricted free agent, but the team did not give him a tender offer prior to midnight last night. He suffered a torn ACL in his right knee on the first day of last June's pre-camp and was on injured reserve the entire season. He has played in 24 games, making one start, in his career.
