Huntington and signed linebacker Nate Dingle. Huntington had signed with the team two weeks ago when center Dave Widell was sidelined with a knee injury. Widell returned to play in more than half of last Sunday's 21-17 win vs. the New York Jets.
One of the Original Ten Jaguars who signed with the team on Dec. 15, 1994, Huntington played in four games for the Jaguars last season. The 26-year-old Huntington is in his third NFL season out of Penn State.
Dingle, 24, spent training camp and the preseason this year with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was waived by the Chiefs on August 20 in the roster cut to 60. The 6-2, 242-pound Dingle began his NFL career in 1994 as an undrafted rookie out of Cincinnati. He signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins, but was waived prior to the start of the regular season. In 1995 Dingle spent training camp with the San Diego Chargers before spending the regular season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was on the Eagles' practice squad for eight weeks and on the Eagles' active roster for nine weeks, playing in six games on special teams.
