The Jacksonville Jaguars today waived FB Ron Janes and activated DE Lamanzer Williams from their practice squad. Williams will be able to play in tomorrow's game against the Baltimore Ravens (unless he is deactivated before the game).
Williams, 23, was selected by the Jaguars in the sixth round of this year's draft out of the University of Minnesota. He was waived on the final cut on August 30 and then signed to the team's practice squad the next day. He played in all four preseason games, making two sacks and four tackles.
Janes, 23, was claimed by the Jaguars on August 19, two days after being waived by the Arizona Cardinals, who drafted him in the seventh round of this year's draft. Janes played in the Jaguars' final two preseason games and made the final roster but was deactivated for each of the first two games.
