Jones-Drew nominated for 'ROW'

Jaguars running back/kick returner Maurice Jones-Drew was nominated as one of five finalists for the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for his performance last Sunday at Indianapolis. Fan voting began today at noon and continues through Thursday at 5 p.m. at NFL.com.

Jones-Drew ran for 103 yards on 13 carries in the Jaguars' 21-14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. In addition to his average of nearly eight yards per carry, Jones-Drew caught four passes for 32 yards, including a seven-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter, the first TD of his NFL career. He added four kickoff returns for 109 yards (27.3 avg). His 244 all-purpose yards were the third-most in team history and the most for a rookie.

The award is presented each week during the NFL regular season to recognize the top rookie of the week. This is Jones-Drew's first nomination for the award.
