JACKSONVILLE – Fred Taylor remains a Hall candidate.
So do Jimmy Smith and Tom Coughlin, with three of the key figures from the Jaguars' most-historic and successful era still involved in the voting process for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
Taylor, the Jaguars' all-time leading rusher, was among 52 players named as modern-era Hall candidates Hall Wednesday. Smith, the leader in receiving yards, touchdowns and receptions, also was named among the 52 modern-era candidates.

Taylor, a Jaguars running back from 1998-2008, has been a finalist the last two years and a semifinalist the last six.
Taylor, the No. 9 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 1998 NFL Draft, rushed for 11,695 yards and 66 touchdowns in 13 NFL seasons. He rushed for 11,271 yards and 62 touchdowns with Jacksonville – and is the franchise's all-time rushing leader.
