JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars are back in the postseason.

The Jaguars, winners of six consecutive games and seven of their last eight, clinched a spot in the AFC playoff field on Monday night when the Indianapolis Colts lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 48-27, in Indianapolis.

The Jaguars (11-4) are assured of at least an AFC wild-card spot. They lead the AFC South by a game over the Houston Texans (10-5) and can clinch the division with a victory at Indianapolis Sunday if the Texans lose to the Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) on Saturday.

The Jaguars currently hold the AFC's No. 3 seed, a game behind the AFC West-leading Denver Broncos (12-3) and the AFC East-leading New England Patriots (12-3). The Jaguars will be the No. 1 seed with a first-round bye if they win their final two regular-season games – at Indianapolis Sunday and at home against the Tennessee Titans (3-12) in Week 18 and if the Broncos and Patriots each lose once.

The Jaguars beat the Broncos, 34-20, in Denver Sunday.

This marks the ninth postseason appearance in franchise history, with previous appearances coming in the following seasons: 1996-1999, 2005, 2007, 2017 and 2022.

They won the 1998-1999 AFC Central titles, then won AFC South titles in 2017 and 2022. They made the postseason as a wild-card team in 1996-1997, 2005 and 2007.
