Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud will be hosting the Marcus Stroud Golf Invitational on April 23 at Cimarrone Golf Course in Jacksonville. The event will benefit the Marcus Stroud Foundation which is dedicated to supporting children who face significant physical, mental and financial challenges in a single parent home. The goal of the foundation is to help enhance and enrich the lives of disadvantaged children by establishing various academic and athletic programs otherwise unavailable to them.
The event kicks off with a private reception on Saturday, April 22 at 6 p.m. followed by the golf tournament on April 23. The cost is $150 per person or $500 per person which includes the private reception on Saturday evening. Stroud will be joined for the two-day event by numerous professional football players and coaches including: John Henderson, Deon Grant and Marcellus Wiley of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Verron Haynes of the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles, former NBA superstar Artis Gilmore, several members of the Georgia football coaching staff, and numerous other professional football players and coaches.
